Paul Mackay

Paul is a software developer with a wide experience of software technologies and platforms, particularly around mobile software and the Drupal Content Management Framework. He brings a passion for pragmatic development and open standards. This is combined with practical experience of permaculture, the Transition movement and local community building.

As a Code for Europe Fellow working at Nesta, Paul has been responsible for fostering collaboration around software projects in the UK local government sector and is a committed member of the open source community through his involvement with the OpenOutreach Drupal distribution for charities and nonprofits, the OpenCivic software sharing platform and leadership on development of Folk Labs’ own distribution: OpenLocal which is designed to cater to the needs of local community groups.

He has significant experience with agile project management from leading development teams at Nokia, Dorling Kindersley and more recently with the Herne Hill website and Real Food Wales app.
